God's love for us is so great that He came to this earth as a man in the person of the Lord Jesus.  Born as a baby He grew and lived on this earth.  He lived a perfect life, a life that we could not live.  A life that was completely pleasing to God the Father.  And He died a death that we should have died.  The wages of sin is death.  It is our payment for sin.  But He bore the penalty for our sin on the cross.  The scripture says He become sin for us.  So that we could receive forgiveness and be made right with God.  That we could know God and be known by God.

In the gospel of John the Lord Jesus says, "... the one who comes to Me (Jesus) I surely will not cast out".

He is inviting you to come unto Him... in Matthew 11:28 the Lord Jesus says, "Come to me all who are weary and carry heavy burdens and I will give you rest".  If we come surely He will not cast you out.  He says to you now, come and receive salvation, the forgiveness of sins and the ability to be free from sin.  It is the gift of God.
